Question:

How often should I receive Botox injections to maintain its smoothing effects?

Answer:

It's best to repeat your Botox before it completely wears off to extend the effect and longevity. The exact amount of time will vary with each patient and depend on how many units they receive at each injection. Four to six months would be average, but I have had some patients go seven if they are diligent about their treatments.

Question:

My girlfriend recently suggested a Botox treatment to reduce the smile lines around my eyes and forehead.  I know that this injectable is derived from a neurotoxin and was wondering about the safety of this procedure.  Could you outline some the common reactions and their frequencies?

Answer:

Botox when administered by qualified, reputable physicians and purchased from Allergan is extremely safe. Minor bruising, headache and redness are often reported as temporary short term effects.

Question:

Know that I have some lines in my forehead that I’d like to smooth out with Botox. I know it’s a treatment that is widely used, but other than the basics, I don’t much about it. I assume that it’s safe, but I’m wondering if it’s something that one could have an allergic or negative reaction to. Is a sensitivity or allergy to Botox something that you test for prior to injecting it into a new patient?

Answer:

Botox is a remarkable drug the results are dramatic and reliable. Botox allergy is almost
unheard of and so testing is not necessary. Be sure to use a reputable board certified physician injector who uses U.S. supplied Allergan Botox for safest results.

Question:

I really dislike the appearance of my forehead. I could grow my bangs out but I've never looked good with bangs. I'd love to get a browlift but I feel like you don't hear much about this procedure. Are there other procedures, like a facelift or Botox, that address the same problems but are better or more popular?

Answer:

Botox is an effective treatment for forehead issues and many patients are happy to accept the need for repeat treatments in exchange for not having surgery. For those who wish a more "permanent" fix forehead lifts are still done and are excellent procedures.
