Question:

I found a model in a magazine with the exact nose I want, can a rhinoplasty replicate this nose for me?

Answer:

Possibly, but it may look terrible on your face. It's fine to get ideas from fashion magazines, but changes to your nose need to balance and harmonize with the rest of your face to look really good.

Question:

I am 18-years-old and want to have a nose job to fix my large nose. My parents are wary of letting me get the surgery because they think the nose can possibly run for almost a year after the surgery. Is this true? Is this a common occurrence among rhinoplasty patients?

Answer:

There is no truth to that. What is true is that while the great majority of swelling will be gone in the first two months, the process of skin shrinkage and contracture will continue in a subtle fashion for twelve months.

Question:

I am a 35-year-old male with a wide nasal bridge. Am I a good candidate for finesse rhinoplasty surgery?

Answer:

"Finesse" rhinoplasty is a term that may have different meanings to different doctors. If you are referring to a procedure which is intended to create subtle changes with few operative steps then I would agree with that. Whether your situation would qualify can only be determined by exam and consult.

Question:

I am a 35-year-old male with a wide nasal bridge.  Am I a good candidate for finesse rhinoplasty surgery?

Answer:

Certainly you can have your wide bridge narrowed. Whether or not this would qualify as a "finesse" rhinoplasty depends on your definition of what that is. Some refer to it as minimal steps to just enhance a look, others have different perceptions. It would be best to have a consult with computer imaging to see what it might look like and what other  things can be done rather than putting yourself in a box that limits your options.

Question:

Some of the before and after pictures of nose jobs I've come across show very slight changes. I thought to undergo this procedure there had to be some monumental transformation.  I am 32 years old, male and I want just a slight narrowing of the bridge of my nose. Is this something that can be done without an incision?

Answer:

Minimal change or "finesse" rhinoplasties are often done. Incisions are completely inside the nose and therefore totally invisible.
