Question:

What is a lateral strut graft for rhinoplasty and when is it used?

Answer:

Lateral strut grafts are usually straight piece of septal cartilage that support and straighten the lateral crus of the lower lateral cartilage (from tip to nostril rim). they can be used to support breathing, flatten convex shapes and prevent post operative pinching of the tip.
