I’ve heard that grafting techniques are sometimes used to create definition in a bulbous tip. I don’t quite understand how this works. Would adding to the nose only make it larger?
Good question. Ideally the shape of the tip comes from the underlying cartilage. If the skin is very thick and the underlying cartilage weak then the shape will not show through. Adding cartilage graft strengthens it enough to allow shape to show thus decreasing the bulbous appearance with a more defined look.
