I am a forty-two year-old man looking at various injectable fillers for my facial wrinkles. Is one type better than another?
Whether one filler is better than another depends more on the area you wish to target. Areas of thin skin such as the eyelids or lips are better suited for hyaluronic acid fillers (Juvederm, Restylane etc) but these can also be used in cheek folds as well. Deeper folds with thicker skin or areas that need increased volume may respond better to fillers like Radiesse or Sculptra. It’s not uncommon for patients to receive more then one type of filler to “customize” the effect.
