Im looking to undergo Rhinoplasty this year. Im concerned about the swelling afterward and how noticeable it will be that Ive had surgery, especially since I cant take too much time off from work. A friend of mine had steroid injections after his nose job to help reduce the swelling and he said it was very effective. Is this commonly done? Is it something that I could request to have done?
Contemporary rhinoplasty techniques have greatly reduced post op swelling. The majority of patients can be comfortable in public after 1 week. Oral steroids can be used to decrease swelling. I only inject steroids in the nose to help with specific skin types that I am concerned will heal with excess thickness.
