My seven year old son has ears that really protrude out. Already at this age the other children call him names such as dumbo, etc. He has actually come home crying on more than one occasion. Is he old enough for Otoplasty surgery?
Most definitely. The ears are considered 90-95% grown by age 5, and while this fact allows the surgery to be done, it often accentuates the deformity and urgency because the size of the ears outpaces head growth size contributing to the social torment you refer to.
