What is the difference between Radiesse and other injectable fillers?
Radiesse is made of hydroxyapatite which is a formulation of calcium crystals identical to the “non living mineral” structure of our bones. As such it is very good for filling of deep folds and augmentation of cheeks, hollows and noses. It also has greater longevity than than some other fillers because of the durability of the calcium crystal structure. The downside of this structure is that it should only be used in thicker skin and deeper areas. If it is placed in thin skin or membrane such as under the eye or lips there is risk of seeing or feeling little sand like clumps or bumps.
